The Lion King, a hyper-realistic reimagining of the Disney classic with visual effects work by Technicolor’s award-winning studio MPC Film, was recognised for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature and Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature. The Lion King also won the award for Outstanding Cinematography in a CG Project.
1917, with visual effects work by MPC Film, was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature. Other nominees included Ford v Ferrari, Joker, The Aeronauts with the award going to The Irishman. While Vikings; What Happens in the Cave, with visual effects work by MR.X, also received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode. Other nominees in the category included The Crown; Aberfan, See; Godflame, Living With Yourself; Nice Knowing You and the winner: Chernobyl; 1:23:45.
