WATCH: VFX breakdown for 'Ad Astra' by The Focus

With 49 awards nominations and seven trophies, all in visual effects categories, Ad Astra is without a doubt one of MR. X's  successful projects.

The studio was responsible for sequences such as the one where Roy (Brad Pitt) falls from an 80,000 feet-tall antenna. Visual effects supervisor Olaf Wendt had help from the International Space Station to grab materials and texture references to build this antenna. In addition, real satellite images were used to build a perfect CG Earth environment.
